Microsoft Teams: Make and Receive University Calls from Your PC or Smartphone
Using Your University Phone Number With Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams utilizes the internet for phone calls made from the desktop or mobile app. There is no need for an additional SIM card or line of service with your cellular provider.
- Check to see if your University phone number is available in Microsoft Teams by installing and opening the Teams app on your PC and going to the Calls tab.
- If a phone number is shown, proceed to step 2 to install the mobile app if you'd like to make and receive Teams calls using your smartphone.
- If a phone number is not shown, contact the Technology Help Desk to have your number moved to Teams.
- Once your phone number is available in Teams, make and receive calls using your University phone number on your personal smartphone by downloading the Teams mobile app from the Pitt Mobile App Center on myPitt. Or download the app from the iOS App or Google Play store.
- Install the app, log in using your University computing account, and select More on the bottom right. Then tap Calls, click the phone+ icon on the bottom right to access the dialpad.
