Microsoft Corporation has announced security updates for December that affect a broad range of Microsoft product Specific information about the updates is available on Microsoft’s Security TechCenter.

Pitt Information Technology recommends that users immediately identify and install the security updates necessary to remediate these vulnerabilities by using Microsoft's Windows Update feature on their computers as soon as possible.

PeopleSoft and PeopleSoft/HighPoint Campus Experience (CX) will be unavailable during a scheduled maintenance to the Student Information System performed by the vendor, Sierra-Cedar, from 11 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, until 8 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3. The maintenance window is scheduled by Pitt Information Technology in consultation with the Office of the University Registrar, Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, and Student Financial Services.

Individuals who responded to the scam and provided their credentials should immediately change their password.

This work is expected to last until 7 a.m. on Sunday, October 22. The systems will be returned to service earlier if work is completed ahead of schedule.

This routine maintenance is necessary to maintain the security, stability, and reliability of the Student Information System.

Install the security updates necessary to remediate these vulnerabilities by using Microsoft AutoUpdate.
