BeyondTrust SRS Unavailable During Evening Maintenance on July 6

BeyondTrust Secure Remote Support (SRS) will be unavailable while Pitt Information Technology performs scheduled maintenance from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6.

This maintenance is necessary to ensure support providers are using the newest version of BeyondTrust with the latest features, security updates, and functionality upgrades.

Alternatives for Screensharing During Maintenance

Pitt IT recommends using the screensharing methods available in Microsoft Teams if customers request remote IT support during the maintenance window. Microsoft provides instruction for screensharing in Teams with this support article.

Pitt IT is aware of rare past occurrences when some users were unable to access their Representative Consoles after maintenance was completed. If you experience this issue, contact the 24/7 IT Help Desk for assistance. You can also access BeyondTrust SRS via the web console to provide remote support with BeyondTrust tools and features while your local issue is being resolved.

How to access the web console:

  1. Log in to srs.it.pitt.edu/login
  2. Click the "My Account" tab
  3. Click "Launch Web Rep Console

Action Required by Jump Client Users

Jump Clients installed on existing machines will auto-update to be compatible with the new version of the appliance. However, there will be a new Jump Client version (22.2.2) required for all devices that receive the Jump Client after the upgrade. 

Departments must deploy the new version of the Jump Client to their limiting collection or other deployment collection so that new devices may receive the Jump Client in the future. The new client will be available to deploy beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 7.
