A new version of the Pitt Mobile app is planned for release on June 1. The app will feature a modern new look and improved ease of use, based on feedback received from the University community. Pitt IT plans to submit the app to the Apple and Google app stores on May 29. A “soft-launch” release date of June 1 is expected, but the ultimate date of availability will depend upon the duration of the approval process from Apple and Google Play.
Upon its availability, we encourage all University participants to download the new Pitt Mobile app from your preferred app store. Once the new Pitt Mobile app is live, the previous version will no longer be functional.
For users of the existing Pitt Mobile app, you will have specific options once the new Pitt Mobile app is live.
- For Apple users, you can expect an “update” option on your device that will guide you through updating your existing Pitt Mobile with the new app. You can also download the new app directly from the Apple App Store.
- For Android users of the existing Pitt Mobile, you will be required to download the new Pitt Mobile app directly from Google Play. Your existing Pitt Mobile app will no longer function.
Upon launch, m.pitt.edu will be redirected to a new public guest page. Some content will require a University account for access, and some will also require users to download the new app.
Only the Pittsburgh campus will have content available in this release; regional campuses will be incorporated at a later date.
