Upgrade Older Versions of Duo Mobile for iOS Before September 3

Tuesday, August 27, 2019 - 08:48

A new version of Duo Mobile for iOS—scheduled for release on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019—affects users of versions 3.11.2 or earlier (released on or before June 2016). Android device users are not affected by this update.

Duo recommends that users of older versions of Duo Mobile for iOS upgrade to the latest version before September 3, 2019.

Upgrading Duo Mobile for iOS versions 3.11.2 and earlier after September 3 will cause the device on which Duo Mobile is installed to stop working with the University’s multifactor authentication service, and you may need to reinstall the Duo Mobile app and/or re-register your device for multifactor authentication.

To determine which version of Duo Mobile is installed on your iOS device:

  • Open the Duo app and open Settings
  • Scroll down and tap Duo Mobile
  • The System Info section displays the version.
