Comparing PeopleSoft Classic and PeopleSoft/HighPoint Campus Experience (CX)

Overview

The following tables explain how users of PeopleSoft/HighPoint Campus Experience (CX) can complete many of the same self-service tasks that are commonly found in PeopleSoft Classic. The tables are organized by role: student, faculty, and advisor. At the end of this guide, actions are listed that are exclusive to either PeopleSoft Classic or HighPoint CX.

Description
What if report

Main Menu > Self Service > Student Center – What-if Report

or

Main Menu > Self Service > Degree Progress/Graduation > View What-if Report

Academics > What If Students can use this component to set up and generate a what-if advisement report based on alternate programs of study.  This should be used if a student is thinking of changing their program of study and want to know how it would affect their progress.

Main Menu > Self Service > Student Center – Grades

Main Menu > Self Service > Enrollment > View My Grades

Academic > Grades Lists past and present course grades.
Where to enroll

Main Menu > Self Service > Student Center – Enroll

or

Main Menu > Self Service > Enrollment > Enrollment: [Add Classes, Drop Classes, Edit a Class, Swap Classes]

Enrollment Provides students with the ability to enroll in courses.  Enrollment is integrated throughout CX.
Course catalog

Main Menu > Self Service > Student Center – Search

or

Main Menu > Self Service > Class Search/Browse Catalog > Browse Course Catalog

Class Information > Course Catalog Displays the university’s course catalog and allows student to create custom filters to find classes more easily.  Students can add courses to their planner, shopping cart, and even enroll from the course catalog.

Main Menu > Self Service > Enrollment > Enrollment Dates

Enrollment > Enrollment Dates Displays when enrollment appointments are open for specific terms.  Students can click on specific terms to get more detailed information.

Main Menu > Self Service > Student Center – Class Schedule

or

Main Menu > Self Service > Enrollment > My Class Schedule

Schedule Displays the student’s class schedule in list view and calendar view, allows the visibility of the time period displayed (day, week, month) to be changed, lets the information that displays on the schedule be adjusted, provides the ability to print the schedule, or export it to an email system such as Outlook.

Description
Grade Roster Main Menu > Self Service > Faculty Center > Grade Roster Grade Roster Provides faculty the ability to view and grade students in the courses they are teaching.
Teaching Schedule Main Menu > Self Service > Faculty Center > My Schedule Schedule Displays the faculty member’s class schedule in list view and calendar view, allows the visibility of the time period displayed (day, week, month) to be changed, lets the information that displays on the schedule be adjusted, provides the ability to print the schedule, or export it to an email system such as Outlook.
Class Roster Main Menu > Self Service > Faculty Center > Class Roster Class Roster Contains a list view of the faculty member’s student roster for the courses they are teaching.  Provides the faculty member with a biographical, demographic, and contact information of the students in their course.  Faculty can email all the students enrolled in their course from the class roster or email individual students from this screen as well.

Description
View List of Advisees Main Menu > Self Service > Advisor Center > My Advisees View Advisees Contains a list view of the faculty member’s advisees.  Provides the ability to add notes, view demographic, biographical, and contact information.
View Advisee Main Menu > Self Service > Advisor Center > My Advisees > Advisee Student Center View Advisees & Click Act as a User Impersonate advisee access.

Description
Import Grades from Canvas Main Menu > Self Service > Faculty Center > Grade Roster Imports grades entered in Canvas into PeopleSoft.
Grade Change Request Main Menu > Self Service > Faculty Center > Grade Change Request Provides ability for faculty to submit a grade change request for student(s) after grades have posted.

Description
Self-Accept/Decline Admission + Online Tuition Deposit Admissions > Accept/Decline Admissions Provides applicants with the ability to self-accept or self-decline their admissions and if required, pay their enrollment deposit.
