An all-online access model – the Minitab web app – exists for both Windows and Mac. It completely replaced the desktop app on January 1, 2022.

Minitab® is an all-in-one statistical and graphical analysis software for quality improvement, education, and research. 

Access Minitab on the cloud from any laptop, anywhere.

Key Benefits:

Getting Started:

Choose from the following two options to get a Minitab license:

Minitab for Students

Students can use Minitab online via the web app. Visit Minitab's website for complete product information.

Minitab for Faculty, Departments, and Staff

Please consult the following chart for Minitab availability options. Before you use the web app, make sure you have a license.

License Renewal

Departments: Pitt IT will send departments a reminder with renewal costs. In order to receive upgrades, maintenance payments must be received by renewal date noted in the product list.

The Minitab web app is available now and can be accessed anytime, anywhere using a browser. No downloads are necessary. Pitt Information Technology recommends that users start using the web app today.

Using the Minitab Web App

  1. Visit Minitab, enter your University Computing Account email address, then click Next.
    Note: The Minitab web app does not work with Firefox.

  2. Login using multifactor authentication.

  3. As a first-time user, review the Subscription Agreement, check the box to accept the terms, then click Accept. Returning users can skip to step 5.

  4. First time users see a Welcome Screen, click Open Web App and you can skip to step 6.

  5. As a returning user, click the Minitab Statistical Software, then follow any onscreen prompt to open the web app.

  6. For all users, the Minitab web app launches and you can use the app to create your work.

  7. When finished, click the Sign Out link in the upper right-hand side of the window.
