How to Delete Panopto Video Recordings

Overview

As a user, you can remove recordings from your library and place them in the Recycle bin. Users can restore recordings that are in the recycle bin.
Note: If a folder is deleted, all content in that folder and its subfolders is moved to the recycle bin.

1. Visit Lecture Capture (Panopto) via My Pitt.
2. Hover over each video in the library and select the Delete button.
   Note: To delete multiple recordings, hover over each video and check the box that appears in the upper left-hand corner of each video's icon, then select Delete from the top toolbar.
3. Click Yes.
   Note: Deleted recordings are sent to the Recycle Bin and after 90 days are permanently deleted from Panopto.

To permanantly delete recordings from the Recycle Bin:

1. Visit Lecture Capture (Panopto) via My Pitt.
2. From the bottom left-hand side of the Panopto window, click System, Recycle Bin, then Delete Forever.
   Note: To delete multiple recordings, select the Delete Forever option located above the recordings.
3. Click OK.
