Microsoft Teams Phones: Transfer Calls

Blind Transfer (from your phone)

A blind transfer is when you transfer the call to a third person without first letting them know you are transferring the call. Follow the steps below:

1. While you are in a call press and hold the Transfer button. The call is placed on hold.

2. Enter the ten-digit number of the person you wish to dial. Then press the Call button (phone icon on your display).

Note: You can also select someone from your Contacts or Recent calls and then tap Dial.

3. The call is transferred when the third party answers.

Consultative Transfer (from your phone)

A consultative transfer is when you transfer the call to a third person after first speaking with them. This way, you know whether they are able to take the call or not. Follow the steps below:

1. While you are in a call press the Transfer button. The call is placed on hold.

2. Enter the five-digit extension or ten-digit number of the person you wish to dial. Then press the Call button (phone icon on your display).

Note: You can also select someone from your Contacts or Recent calls and then tap Dial.

3. The person to whom you are transferring the call will answer. Ask them if they are willing to accept the call. If they are, press the Transfer button again.

4. The call is transferred.
