Password Manager: Account Types
University students, faculty, and staff can enroll in a Business account, create a Personal account with Premium status (Premium), or both.
- Business accounts are recommended for storing and sharing your University-related passwords and information.
- Personal accounts with premium status (Premium) are recommended for storing your personal passwords and information.
You can link your Premium account to your Business account so that you can easily manage all of your passwords from one convenient interface.
Similarities
Both Business and Premium accounts offer the following features:

Get Started in 5 Easy Steps
Business Account
- Log in to accounts.pitt.edu, click, Login & Security, click Enroll in Password Manager (LastPass), and follow our step-by-step instructions.
Note: Already have a LastPass account? Learn more about upgrading to a Business account... - Download the LastPass plug-in for your web browsers, then install the LastPass mobile app (see links to the right).
- Click the LastPass icon in your web browser and log in with your University email address and master password.
- Set up SMS recovery in case you ever forget your master password.
- Disable your browser's built-in password manager to enhance security and avoid confusion.
Premium Account
- Visit lastpass.com/partnerpremium/pitt and follow our step-by-step instructions to create a new Password Manager Premium account.

- Click the LastPass icon in your web browser and log in with your personal (non-Pitt) email address and master password.
