Update: Windows Server Issues Caused by Recent Microsoft Updates Conflicting with Antivirus Products

Update: Pitt Information Technology has learned that recent Microsoft updates are conflicting with numerous antivirus products, including Symantec Endpoint Protection. This issue is the reason some Windows servers are freezing, requiring a reboot.   

We are working with Microsoft and Symantec to resolve the issues

Pitt Information Technology is aware of an issue with managed Symantec Endpoint Protection clients that is affecting Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012. The issue causes servers to freeze, requiring a reboot.

We are working with Symantec to resolve the issue. Updates will be posted as they become available.
