Microsoft has announced that the OneDrive Desktop application (sync client) is retiring support for Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10 and 10.11 effective Feb. 1, 2019. Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10 has been out of mainline support since August 2017, and Microsoft states it is making this change to deliver the best, most secure OneDrive experience possible.
To ensure a smooth transition, Microsoft recommends that users upgrade their workstations to Mac OS X 10.12 or above before Feb. 1, 2019.
Existing OneDrive sync client installations on unsupported operating systems will continue to run after Feb. 1, 2019. However, Microsoft will stop testing the functionality of these sync clients and will not address any issues or problems that may arise.
