Formerly known as Microsoft Imagine, Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching puts professional developer tools—including Project, Visio, and Visual Studio Enterprise—in the hands of students, faculty, and staff at no cost. These titles allow users to create cross-platform apps, manage application lifecycles, create modern reports with actionable insights, and more. Students can use the tools to develop and create apps, games, and websites.

Some specific benefits for new products available on Azure Dev Tools for Teaching include:

  • Microsoft Project helps users manage, organize, and schedule projects and prioritize initiatives.
  • Microsoft Visio helps users visually organize workflow, decision diagrams, charts, and other customizable business materials.
  • Microsoft Visual Studio Enterprise lets you coordinate test management activities, code sharing, and source repositories from a central location.

To get started, visit Azure Dev Tools for Teaching, then select Software to view the list of available titles. As a first-time user, you need to authenticate through a Microsoft sign-in prompt with Pitt Passport single sign-on and multifactor authentication.
