Changes to Processes for Requesting Access to the Student and GL Marts

A new online process has been implemented to make requesting access to the Student Data Mart and GL Mart faster and easier. It keeps all the security and auditing benefits of the paper-based process while eliminating the need to print paper forms, obtain handwritten signatures, and fax forms to additional approvers. The following changes have been made to authorization requests:

  • For all Student Mart and Restricted Student Mart Access Requests: The Security Contact for your academic center or department now submits the online request form at My Pitt on behalf of the end user. Instructions are available here.
    Note: Users need Student Mart Access in order to request Restricted Access to the Student Mart.

  • For all GL Mart and GL Group Mart Requests: You submit the online request form for your request by using the form that is available on the University Information Portal Community at My Pitt. Instructions are available here.

Once a form has been submitted for these requests, it is automatically routed to the appropriate individuals for signature and approval. Approximate turnaround times for requests vary but are usually between 24 and 48 hours depending on the type of access that is requested.
