Duo, the service provider for multifactor authentication at the University, reports that some users of iPhones and iPads running iOS 11.3 are experiencing issues when trying to access apps that are Pitt Passport protected.
When the user switches to the Duo Mobile app to approve the push notification, the approval attempt fails. The issue is related to a change that Apple made in its iOS 11.3 operating system.
If you experience this issue, Duo recommends you use one of the following interim solutions until Apple releases an update:
- Press and hold the notification on your phone to display the “Approve” and “Deny” actions (rather than tapping the notification to open the Duo Mobile app). You can also swipe down on the notification to display the “Approve” and “Deny” options.
- Use the “Call Me” or “Passcode” option instead of the “Push” option.
