Finding Your Version of Outlook

Overview

University faculty and staff are provided with access to Pitt Email (Outlook). Outlook 2016 and Outlook 2013 are the supported desktop email clients for Windows computers. Outlook 2016 and Outlook 2011 are supported for Mac.

Complete the steps below to check what version of Outlook you are using.

 

Detail

macOS

  1. Click the Outlook tab in the top left-hand corner of the Outlook interface. 
  2. Click About Outlook.
  3. The version of Outlook should display at the top of the window.

 

Windows

  1. Click the File tab in the top left-hand corner of the Outlook interface. 
  2. Depending on your version of Outlook, a tab in the drop-down menu will display labeled “Help,” “Office Account,” or something similar. Click that tab.
  3. A new list of options will display. Click the button labeled About Outlook or About Microsoft Office Outlook.
  4. The version of Outlook should display at the top of the window.
