How to Play the 10-Day Cybersecurity Challenge

  1. Come here between October 18–31 to access the challenges. Challenges will activate at 13:00 (1 p.m. EDT). 
  2. A new daily challenge will be posted each week day. (You'll be able to access previous challenges, so no worries if you miss a day.)
  3. Each daily challenge only takes a few minutes. Earn an entry into our prize drawing* for each task you complete.
  4. After the 10th challenge, take the Bonus Survey - a brief technology use survey - and double your prize entries* (up to 20 total) 
  5. Complete all 10 Episodes and the Bonus Survey, and you'll earn 20 OCC and $5 in Panther Funds.*

What You Can Win


For each Episode Challenge you complete, you'll earn an entry into our incredible prize drawing*, where you could win one of 13 prizes worth over $1300! Complete the Bonus Footage Challenge, and you'll double your entries (up to 20 chances total). Everyone who completes all the Episode Challenges and the Bonus Footage Challenge will earn 20 OCC credits to boot. Plus, the first 1500 students to complete all the challenges will earn $5 in Panther Funds to at any Campus Merchant or Community Merchant they want!

Rules of the Game

Terms & Conditions

Even a fun challenge like this has a few rules. Here's what you need to know:

  • For each completed challenge, you will automatically receive one raffle entry.
    (Note: leaving a daily challenge before completion will not result in a raffle entry or count toward completing the Challenge.)
  • Completing the Bonus Survey Challenge will automatically double your raffle entries, up to a maximum of 10 bonus entries.
  • Prize winners will be selected via a random drawing in November and notified via their primary @pitt.edu email address.
  • Only enrolled students are eligible to win a prize. Limit: One raffle prize per person.
  • To be eligible for OCC credit and the Panther Funds incentive, participants must complete all 10 Daily Challenges and the Bonus Footage Survey. 
  • Each daily challenge is expected to take 2-6 minutes to complete. The survey challenge is expected to take 5-10 minutes to complete.
  • All participants who complete the entire challenge will receive 20 OCC credits in the Pitt Pride category.
  • The first 1,500 participants who complete the entire challenge will receive $5 in Panther Funds. It will be automatically deposited in your account in November.
