Vendor Maintenance to Affect Electronic Lab Notebooks on July 23

LabArchives, the service provider for the Electronic Lab Notebook service, will perform maintenance on Sunday, July 23, during the University’s standard downtime period. The Electronic Lab Notebook service will be unavailable between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. EST on Sunday while server maintenance is completed. A vendor announcement in LabArchives will provide users with advanced notice about the scheduled maintenance.

Update: pitt.edu issue has been resolved

The issue that earlier this morning affected the ability of some individuals to access University sites from outside the University’s network has been resolved. All services have been restored.

An issue that appears to be related to record validation for pitt.edu is affecting the ability of some individuals to access University sites from outside the University's network. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Students, faculty, and staff who have difficulty accessing Pitt sites can contact the Help Desk at 412-624-HELP [4357] for instructions on how to temporarily change their DNS settings to access Pitt services. We will update this post with more information as it becomes available.

Network equipment will be upgraded on Friday, December 23rd beginning at 11:00 p.m.  The work is expected to be completed by 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 24th.

During the maintenance period, wired and wireless network service and telecommunications service will be unavailable for the following buildings on the Pittsburgh campus:

  • Biomedical Science Tower 1 (BST)
  • Petersen Events Center

This maintenance is necessary to enhance the stability and reliability of the network.

Network equipment will be upgraded on Friday, December 23rd beginning at 11:00 p.m.  The work is expected to be completed by 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 24th.

During the maintenance period, wired and wireless network service and telecommunications service will be unavailable for the following buildings on the Pittsburgh campus:

  • 128 North Craig St (Park Plaza)
  • 130 North Bellefield Ave
  • Allegheny Observatory
  • Barco Law Building
  • Biotech Center
  • Bouquet Gardens
  • Bridgeside Point (Cellomics)
  • Bridgeside Point II
  • Duratz Athletics Complex (aka Southside Athletics)
  • Forbes Tower
  • Frick Fine Arts Building
  • Hillman Cancer Center
  • Hillman Library
  • McGowan Institute
  • Mervis Hall
  • Parkvale Building
  • Plum Borough Research Center
  • Posvar Hall (aka Forbes Quad)
  • Sennott Square (aka Multipurpose Academic Ctr.)
  • Webster Hall (through 130 N. Bellefield)

This maintenance is necessary to enhance the stability and reliability of the network.

Scheduled Maintenance

The University's normal downtime period takes place weekly from 11:00 p.m. on Saturday to 7:00 a.m. on Sunday. During the downtime period, access may not be available to University services that have been scheduled for maintenance. The CV and Reports feature (including NIH Biographical Sketch) will not be available until Monday, April 3, 2017 at 8:00 a.m.
