Windows 8.1: Compatibility with University of Pittsburgh Services

The following table summarizes the results of our Windows 8.1 testing.

The Windows 8.1 column shows the results of non-browser based services. We also tested University services with Internet Explorer 11 in both Windows 8.1 User Interface (UI) mode and Desktop mode.

Windows 10: Compatibility with University of Pittsburgh Services

The following table summarizes the results of our Windows 10 testing. We tested University Services with the new operating system and with the new web browser, Microsoft Edge.

In some cases, you will need to use Internet Explorer to use a service with Windows 10.

Using Compatibility View in Internet Explorer 10

The most recent version of Microsoft's Internet Explorer web browser, Internet Explorer 10, comes bundled with Windows 8. Some websites may not yet work correctly in Internet Explorer 10, including the PittNet VPN (virtual private network) service. You can still use these websites in Internet Explorer 10 by turning on Compatibility View.

Using Compatibility View in Internet Explorer 11

The most recent version of Microsoft's Internet Explorer web browser, Internet Explorer 11, comes bundled with Windows 8.1. Some websites may not yet work correctly in Internet Explorer 11, including the PittNet VPN (virtual private network) service. You can still use these websites in Internet Explorer 11 by turning on Compatibility View.
