Get Access to Software

To participate in the Faculty Computing Program, please have your department Chair send an email message to helpdesk+faculty@pitt.edu certifying that your computer meets the technical requirements, that you are a faculty member, and identifying the operating system you will use to access the Faculty Computing Program.  This email should also include the University Computing Account of the faculty member who needs access.

Upon receipt of the email, CSSD Academic Consulting will schedule an appointment to configure your computer and grant access to the faculty computing software suite available at software.pitt.edu.

Download Software

Participants in the Faculty Computing Program can install software applications via the Software Download Service.

New software and software upgrades are released for the Faculty Computing Program as soon as the software has been tested and prepared. Older versions of the package are not available for installation. Uninstallers are available to assist faculty in the removal of older versions of software.

Faculty members can also install software applications from sources other than the Faculty Computing Program onto their computers. Software obtained from these outside sources should be properly licensed in accordance with University policy.
