License
One license for each "server" product must be purchased for each machine on which it is installed. A database server, for example, will need one license each for Windows NT Server and SQL Server.
Client Access Licenses (CALs) are required for each machine connecting to a server. A department with 50 people connecting to one Windows server will need 50 Windows CALs. Note: The BackOffice CAL is included with the Microsoft Campus Agreement for Departments.
Departments must understand the Product Use Rights, Microsoft's restrictions on how the software can be used.
