How to Get Software
You can purchase software in person at:
Software Distribution Services (SDS)
204 Bellefield Hall
Hours: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday (closed University holidays).
A current Pitt ID is required. You can pay by cash, check, MasterCard or Visa, and Panther Funds. Sales tax will be added to the price.
Students, faculty and staff at regional campuses should contact the Technology Help Desk at 412 624-HELP  concerning personal purchases.
Departments may purchase software licenses in person at SDS (Pitt ID card required). Purchases can be made with a University purchase requisition faxed to 412-624-9138, mailed to our campus address, or brought to our office in 204 Bellefield Hall. Purchases can also be made with a Pcard.
Acquire No Cost Software
A variety of software is available at no cost to University students, faculty and staff.
No cost software is distributed in a number of ways. You can download software from the Software Download Service at My Pitt, and also pick up software in person from the Software Distribution Services office and campus computing labs. Pitt students can also download additional Microsoft professional tools online through the DreamSpark program.
Please see the specific software package description for details. Students at regional campuses may acquire some no-cost software directly at locations on your campus. Contact your local Information Technology team for information.
