Voice Mail to Email “Message Waiting” Lights Deactivated

Tuesday, November 3, 2015 - 17:14

Vendor issues have recently resulted in interruptions to Voice Mail to Email service for University of Pittsburgh faculty and staff. To resolve those issues, Computing Services and Systems Development will be deactivating the message waiting indicator lights on the telephones of Voice Mail to Email users beginning at 9:00 p.m. tonight.

Voice Mail to Email users will continue to receive voice mail messages on their University phones and in their My Pitt Email inbox. They will also be able to listen to voice mail messages on their University phone and in their inbox. However, the light on their phones will not turn on when they receive a new message.

We are contacting Voice Mail to Email users directly to inform them of these changes. Voice Mail to Email users who would like to keep the message waiting indicator light on their phone active may do so by contacting the Technology Help Desk and opting out of the Voice Mail to Email service.

Please contact the Technology Help Desk at 412-624-HELP [4357] or online at http://technology.pitt.edu/helprequest if you have any questions regarding this announcement.
