Network Connect, the legacy client that is used with the Secure Remote Access service, will be retired on September 30, 2016. Those using the University’s Secure Remote Access service (http://sremote.pitt.edu) will need to upgrade to the Pulse client before September 30, 2016 when connecting remotely to University resources. In addition to notifying Network Connect users of the change, CSSD is available to assist in making the transition to the Pulse client.
As announced in April, the Pulse client is the recommended method for establishing a remote connection to your office computer or for accessing departmental databases and servers that reside behind network firewalls. It is easier to use and delivers faster performance than the Network Connect client. The Pulse client also supports newer operating systems, including Windows 10 and Mac OS X.
If you have not already done so, please download the Pulse client from the Software Download Service at My Pitt. Detailed instructions are available at http://technology.pitt.edu/pulsesecure. Please note that you must be an administrator on your computer to install the Pulse client.
