Problem With Message Indicator Activation/Deactivation for Voice Mail Users on 4-0001

A problem is occurring for Pittsburgh campus faculty and staff who access voice mail by dialing 4-0001 in which the message indicator light on telephone handsets does not activate when new messages are received or deactivate when messages are cleared. Users are able to access voice mail to check messages and callers are able to leave messages. CSSD is working with the vendor to resolve the issue as quickly as possible but recommends that users with voice mailboxes on the 4-0001 system check periodically until the problem is resolved to avoid missing important messages.
