Maintenance Scheduled for AFS File System - Access to Personal and Some Departmental Websites and UNIX Timesharing Service to be Affected
CSSD has scheduled routine maintenance for the AFS file system during the normal system maintenance period (11:00 p.m. Saturday to 7:00 a.m. Sunday) on November 29-30. During this time users may not be able to access allocated disk space on the UNIX Timesharing System. Personal and departmental websites hosted on the AFS system will also be unavailable briefly throughout this maintenance period. Websites hosted on AFS are recognizable by the ~ in the site's URL (e.g., http://www.pitt.edu/~username). Sites hosted on the Enterprise Web Service will not be affected. Access to websites and UNIX Timesharing directories will be interrupted for approximately 20 minutes as AFS servers are restarted.
